On October 8, 1967, THCC was founded by Dolores J. Lindsay, a health activist who traces the conception of our organization to an elementary school PTA meeting, and the birth of Ohio's first community health center to a four-room apartment in Lincoln Heights. She, along with a handful of churches, volunteer physicians and dentists, pooled their resources and established a medical home that would provide prenatal, pediatric and dental care services for patients who had nowhere else to go to get the care they needed.

Now, over 55 years later, THCC is still carrying out that same mission, including a full range of primary care services, and working to expand and serve more people in northern Hamilton County.​
